an investment delegation led by zhang feimeng, deputy director of invest shenzhen and including officials from the luohu district people's government and the luohu district investment promotion bureau, visited the united states, south korea and japan from august 22 to 31, 2018 to carry out a series of investment promotions. the aims were to introduce major projects, build networks for promoting overseas investments and stimulate cooperation between shenzhen and developed cities in north america and asia in emerging industries and fields. themes included scientific and technological innovation and aerospace, cultural creativity, new energy, life and health, and other emerging industries.
during the visits to the united states, south korea and japan, the delegation held meetings themed “invest in shenzhen, build a winning future” in seoul, tokyo, and seattle. the delegation introduced shenzhen's good business environment and industrial development opportunities to more than 500 local political and business representatives. content included a shenzhen city promotion video, on-site promotions, and interactive exchanges. the delegation also highlighted the characteristics of china's current stable political power, policies and situation, and increased openness, which strengthened the confidence of local enterprises to deepen investment cooperation with shenzhen.
the delegation also visited some of the world's top 500 enterprises including mitsui & co., ltd., amazon, boeing and other industry giants, and universities and institutions such as foster school of business, university of washington, bill & melinda gates foundation, korea health industry development institute and yamanashi gem museum. they also met with business organizations such as the japan-china economic association, the association for the promotion of international trade, japan, and the seattle business council to discuss effective measures for strengthening exchanges and cooperation.
