the 2018 shenzhen aerospace innovation-driven forum and project road shows were held at the wyndham grand shenzhen on june 22. the event was hosted by invest shenzhen and the bao’an municipal government and co-hosted by skyworth innovation valley and the association for unmanned vehicle systems of china. leaders such as wang youming, director general of invest shenzhen, zhang feimeng, deputy director general of invest shenzhen, zhou xueliang, deputy head of the bao’an municipal government, and dang yali, general manager of science and technology industrial park of the skyworth group, attended the event and delivered speeches. about 120 people from the aerospace industry’s top companies, associations, investment institutions as well as journalists also attended the event.
at the forum, officials from the emerging industry division of the economic, trade and information commission of shenzhen municipality introduced shenzhen’s aerospace industry and explained related policies. luo gang, ceo of airbus’ innovation center in china, shared development trends in the aerospace industry and airbus’ new innovative businesses. thomas bohn, executive director at the investment promotion agency for western switzerland, introduced the region’s development conditions and key products in switzerland’s unmanned aerial vehicle industry. hu linping, a founder and partner at zhengxuan investment, which has invested in renowned companies such as byd and ubtech, shared the trends in capital markets for the aerospace industry and talked about successful investments, such as one space. afterwards, road shows for innno’s uav project, u.s. technical consultant’s domestic production project, shanghai uvs intelligence system’s u650 male amphibious unmanned aircraft system, the expansion of shenzhen jinming aerospace technology’s aircraft component manufacturing base, and daning smart control technology’s smart agriculture project were held and evaluated by experts. top aerospace companies such as boeing and one space also sent representatives to attend the event and they held talks with the assembled guests.
as a top national priority, the aerospace industry has become an important marker of how countries worldwide are making their economies more intelligent and accelerating their “reindustrialization” and “industry 4.0” strategies. with global economic growth and strengthened international exchanges and cooperation, the aerospace industry has embraced new development opportunities. driven by policies, investment and technologies, china’s aerospace industry is now on the fast track and becoming a new source for economic growth. as an efficient and precise platform for connecting people, the event not only promoted shenzhen’s favorable environment for development of the aerospace industry and attracted good attendance numbers, it also sought out those interested in investing in shenzhen to demonstrate their plans to allow local governments, industrial parks and investment institutions to know more about their projects so as to facilitate connections between projects and districts where such projects will be located.
