the china (shenzhen)—us (boston) emerging industry investment promotion conference was successfully held in the hall of harvard university, boston, on september 2. dr. guangping gao, director of the china cooperation and development center of university of massachusetts medical school, dr. shaokun shu, chairman of the harvard medical school chinese scientists & scholars association, dr. shi xiangguo, president of the american chinese biopharmaceutical association and ms. dai jing, chief representative of the north american representative office of shenzhen, as well as more than 120 representatives from local companies and research institutions attended the conference.
at the conference, invest shenzhen introduced shenzhen's business environment and supportive policies for talent introduction, emerging strategic industries and future industries. shenzhen has rolled out a range of supportive policies for introducing premium talent, promoting industrial development and improving enterprise competiveness in recent years. a representative from nanshan district's economic promotion bureau introduced the area's industrial development, regional planning and outstanding industries. dr. shi xiangguo mentioned that boston is home to top universities in the united states where many startups were founded. massachusetts institute of technology (mit) and harvard university each have their own quality education and academic resources. the delegation from shenzhen shared their varied experiences on how to achieve faster development in shenzhen, which would provide opportunities and a platform for high-performing overseas students in boston to start a business in china. wang yaohui, who is chairman of shenzhen target bio-pharmaceutical company and did his postdoctoral research at mit, introduced his startup in shenzhen. following on, some other companies and individuals expressed great interest in shenzhen and said they intended to visit and invest in the city to work on some projects.
