invest shenzhen and the office of the china hi-tech fair organizing committee jointly held the "shenzhen-klaipeda investment and cooperation seminar" in klaipeda, lithuania on june 27. the seminar was part of efforts to effectively implement china's "one belt, one road" initiative and establish a bridgehead for the 21st century maritime silk road in shenzhen as well as further expand new areas for investment on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between china and lithuania.
about 150 representatives from lithuania, including arijandas šliupas, deputy minister of lithuania's ministry of transport and communications, and officials from the national harbor bureau of klaipeda, as well as executives from local enterprises and institutions participated in the seminar to discuss how to promote investment and cooperation between the two sides.
chen biao, vice mayor of shenzhen, made a speech at the seminar introducing the city's development and highlighting the positive response among lithuania's business community to the one belt, one road initiative. he also talked about how the two sides can enhance their cooperation in the fields of lasers, modern logistics and biotechnology so as to cultivate new areas for growth for the sustainable and healthy economic development of both sides. wang youming, director of invest shenzhen, elaborated on six key features of shenzhen - innovation, ecology, energy, economy, services and transport – attracting great interest among local enterprises and institutions, who also expressed their desire to enhance communication and cooperation with shenzhen. deputy minister arijandas šliupas, saulius budinas, director of klaipeda city municipality and other guests from merchant groups and the chamber of commerce of klaipeda also gave speeches in which they suggested measures to enhance mutual communication and expressed expectations of a bright future for cooperation.
before the seminar, vice mayor chen biao accompanied by director wang youming met with a group led bysaulius budinas, and two sides exchanged views on how to strengthen comprehensive exchanges and cooperation between shenzhen and klaipeda.
