the 2016 china international oled industry conference supported and organized by invest shenzhen was recently held in the southern chinese city with the goal of promoting the global oled industry, improving the innovative capacity and competitiveness of oled companies worldwide as well as strengthening closer exchanges and cooperation within the industry. during the conference, jia changsheng, deputy director general of invest shenzhen, met with mr. kim, the newly-elected chairman of the society for information display (sid). jia emphasized that shenzhen, which has the world's largest concentration of display manufacturers, boasts the most comprehensive electronics industry chain and is willing to partner with sid to strengthen cooperation between china and the united states and china and south korea. chairman kim said that given the solid industrial base in shenzhen, he hopes to locate more of sid's business in the city, so as to boost the pace of development in the display industry. the meeting was also attended by ap systems, one of the major suppliers of samsung oled.
founded in 1962 with its headquarters in silicon valley, sid is a non-profit nongovernmental organization that is committed to promoting display technologies and display-related disciplines. sid currently has 24 branches worldwide, three of which are located across beijing, taipei and hong kong. sid holds an influential annual meeting in the united states each year to discuss hot industry topics and trends.
