on april 28 in finland in the morning, the shenzhen-tampere investment & cooperation seminar was held in helsinki, and attended by representatives from invest shenzhen, economic and trade information commission of shenzhen, shenzhen investment holding co., ltd., tampere region economic development agency, tampere city council (finance and business activities), tampere chamber of commerce & industry and other agencies. both sides first introduced their own cities and the characteristics of their cities. the representatives from invest shenzhen then discussed how, as an innovative and entrepreneurial metropolitan city, shenzhen is eager to work with other innovative cities worldwide. tampere expressed its sincerity and interest in working with shenzhen, and its representatives had made this special trip from tampere to helsinki to participate in the seminar. both parties agreed to jointly build and actively promote the innovation and entrepreneurship express by invest shenzhen. in order to promote deeper cooperation between both cities, a strategic cooperation agreement was signed between invest shenzhen and tampere economic development board during the seminar. both parties will cooperate on information exchanges, joint activities, and develop recommendations for projects.
as the third largest city in finland, and where the renowned nokia r&d center is located, tampere leads the world in ict, smart manufacturing, nanotechnology, life and health sciences. a number of global top 500 have set up offices in tampere, and the city has also nurtured many innovative small and medium-sized companies, just like what shenzhen has been doing. therefore, there are many areas for both cities to cooperate in.
