in june 2015, king philippe of belgium and queen mathilde, at the invitation of president xi jinping, paid a state visit to china and visited shenzhen. during the visit, ma xingrui, the deputy secretary of the guangdong cpc committee and the secretary of the shenzhen cpc committee, met with the delegation led by king philippe. they witnessed the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement between invest shenzhen and the brussels foreign investment and trade promotion bureau. according to the agreement, brussels and shenzhen will step up communication and visits between two governments and promote cooperation in investment and building shenzhen into a global city.
to further implement the agreement, invest shenzhen and the brussels foreign investment and trade promotion bureau co-sponsored the innovation and investment exchange meeting with the theme of "china and belgium fuel future innovation" on november 17 during the 17th china high-tech fair. more than 40 guests including wang youming, director of invest shenzhen, cécile jodogne, minister of the bruxelles-capitale government, professor laurent bochereau, minister-counselor of the european commission delegation in china, and representatives from companies including ibeezi, famoco, thunder, tianan cyber, galaxy group and dacheng fund, attended the meeting. wang youming and cecile jodogne addressed the gathering, reviewed the economic and trade cooperation between the two cities in the past, and looked at the bright outlook for cooperation. invest shenzhen also introduced the outstanding business and investment environment of shenzhen. enterprises from belgium including ibeezi and famoco shared information about their projects and looked forward to the cooperation. the meeting inspired exciting exchange and resource sharing between belgium and shenzhen enterprises and will be a new driving force to cooperation and investment.
