a delegation from invest shenzhen led by director general wang youming and formed by governmental authorities visited france recently. the purpose was to strengthen all-around cooperation with france, especially in rhone-alpes, in the areas of technology innovation, cultural creativity and green and low-carbon services. in paris and rhone-alpes, a series of investment promotion events were enabled by organizing the investment and cooperation fair, technology park and key enterprise visits and program cooperation negotiation. the events fully promoted the business environment and industry support policies of shenzhen and further broadened the overseas network of investment promotion.
in paris, the delegation visited the valeo r&d center and had talks with the vice-president, mr. jean paul gallon. director general wang youming introduced the favorable innovation environment of shenzhen and expressed his hope that valeo can bolster its r&d investment in shenzhen and bring advanced energy conservation and emission reduction technologies to the city. mr. jean paul gallon said that valeo will step up its investment in shenzhen and make efforts to build their largest overseas r&d center in the city.
in lyon, the capital of rhone-alpes, invest shenzhen hosted the "china (shenzhen)-france (lyon) investment cooperation fair" with the theme "investing in shenzhen for a win-win future". more than 100 guests attended the fair, including philip de meister, general secretary of the rhone-alpes government, officials from the european affairs and international relations cooperation bureau of rhone-alpes and representatives from local enterprises. the delegation introduced the economic and social development status of shenzhen and the bao'an district, the investment environment and policies, and fully showed the city’s investment advantages. both sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation, and the delegation answered individual questions from guests creating a lively and spirited discussion. director general wang youming highlighted the great opportunities in bilateral cooperation with the advent of china's new normal and extended a welcome to local business leaders to expand cooperation areas and elevate cooperation levels in shenzhen. mr. philip de meister, general secretary of the rhone-alpes government, spoke highly of shenzhen's rapid development over 30 years and expressed the hope to build closer relations with the city.
additionally, to facilitate in-depth cooperation on innovation and entrepreneurship, incubation acceleration and technology transfer between shenzhen's international parks and local science parks, the delegation made field surveys of local science parks such as the ain plain science and technology industrial park and the alpes space industrial park, and effectively helped build the innovation and entrepreneurship express between key parks in shenzhen and the local parks. during the stay in france, the delegation also paid visits to a number of technology companies such as acerde, medicrea and séché, introduced the investment advantages of shenzhen and encouraged these companies to invest in the city. furthermore, invest shenzhen and salvéo entered into a cooperation agreement which further stretches the investment promotion network in rhone-alpes. the investment promotion department of the bao'an district signed a cooperation agreement with the alpes space industrial park to actively promote in-depth cooperation on innovation and entrepreneurship between science parks located in the bao'an district and the alpes space industrial park.
