on september 18, which marked the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations, invest shenzhen organized related governmental authorities to hold the "investing in shenzhen for a win-win future: china (shenzhen)-switzerland (zurich) investment cooperation promotion" in zurich. the event further strengthened investment cooperation for technology innovation and the modern service industry between shenzhen and switzerland. more than 60 representatives from various communities of the great zurich area (gza) attended the event and had discussions on facilitating bilateral investment cooperation.
wang youming, director general of invest shenzhen, addressed the exchange meeting and introduced the favorable innovation and entrepreneurship environment in shenzhen. he said that shenzhen is a global "city of design" born with genes of energy, cultural diversity, openness, inclusiveness and entrepreneurship. the city is also honored as the "maker's paradise" due to its well-developed industry chain, which brings a wide cooperative space between shenzhen and switzerland in the innovation area. additionally, through a promotional film and live interpretations, invest shenzhen introduced a full picture of the city's development and highlighted investment cooperation opportunities with the gza in high-tech industries such as life sciences and clean technologies. the investment promotion department of the bao'an district also introduced the investment environment and industrial strengths of the district. representatives from the economy promotion bureau of the gza, swiss federal institute of technology zurich and the swiss chinese chamber of commerce gave speeches and respectively proposed suggestions and measures for strengthening communications with shenzhen, while sharing their anticipation for prospects of positive cooperation. subsequently, invest shenzhen signed a cooperation mou with the swiss chinese chamber of commerce. after the exchange meeting, the delegation was interviewed by eurasia info, the only chinese-english bilingual newspaper in europe, to further promote shenzhen in local media.
the gza is the economic center of switzerland. about 1.5 million international employees speaking multiple languages are serving for at least 150 thousand enterprises in this area. the industries include life sciences, clean technologies, high technologies, information and communication technologies and financial services, etc. the gdp of switzerland reaches up to 76,000 swiss francs.
