at the invitation of the chinese president xi jinping, the king of belgium philippe and queen mathilde paid a state visit to china and were in shenzhen on june 26 and 27. on june 26, the deputy secretary of the guangdong cpc and shenzhen cpc secretary ma xingrui held a meeting with the delegation led by king philippe. during the meeting, invest shenzhen and brussels invest & export entered into a strategic cooperation agreement (mou). according to the agreement, both sides will promote exchange and visits between the two governments, especially in investment and building shenzhen into an international city.
on june 27, invest shenzhen and brussels invest & export jointly held a theme breakfast meeting. king philippe, shenzhen deputy mayor ai xuefeng, the first minister of bruxelles-capitale rudi vervoort, the brussels invest & export ceo ms. bénédicte wilders, director and deputy director of invest shenzhen wang youming and jia changsheng, plus more than 60 senior executives from well-known companies including shenzhen investment holds, huawei, imec and famoco attended the meeting. the gathering reviewed previous cooperation results between two countries and shared new project information with each other. both sides believed that the cooperation will be mutually beneficial and indicated that the two governments will use political and business resources to further promote the cooperation.
