invest shenzhen, the culture, sports and tourism administration of shenzhen municipality, luohu district government, the denmark trade committee, denmark designer association and the shenzhen industrial design profession association jointly held the shenzhen-denmark design innovation cooperation meeting at the danish museum of art and design in copenhagen, denmark on june 19. mr. wang youming, director of invest shenzhen, wang ping, deputy head of the luohu district government, han xiaodong, commercial counselor of china's ambassador in denmark, russ christiansen, chief advisor of the denmark trade committee, morten gron, president of the denmark designer association attended the meeting and gave speeches. more than 100 entrepreneurs from danish creative industries, technological r&d institutions, venture capital firms and incubators attended this meeting. they exchanged views on cooperation between china and denmark in creative industries and watched the agreement signing ceremony for cooperation between the denmark designer association and the sino-finnish design park.
during the meeting, guests including han xiaodong and russ christiansen introduced denmark's basic status and existing cooperation between the two countries. they also talked about the possibilities for broader cooperation between shenzhen and denmark in various fields including trade, investment and culture.
mr. wang youming outlined the cooperation status between denmark and shenzhen in fields including trading, science and technology, and investment. he highlighted shenzhen’s outstanding business and investment environment and described “the city of innovation” and home for innovative enterprises and entrepreneurs. invest shenzhen introduced the status of the design industry and maker’s development in shenzhen and indicated more activities will be launched to promote cooperation between danish designers and design and hi-tech companies in shenzhen.
in addition, the luohu district government introduced the business environment of luohu in the gold and jewelry industry, plus fashion and scientific and technological innovation. entrepreneurs from seidenfaden and hans thyge & co. shared their investment experience in shenzhen. denmark designer association and the sino-finnish design park entered into a direct cooperation agreement to launch long-term cooperation in fields including technological exchange, investment promotion and helping enterprises settle in shenzhen.
the meeting drew wide attention in copenhagen. the outstanding investment and business environment of shenzhen and the rosy outlook of the cooperation attracted many local businessmen, who showed deep interest in running business in shenzhen or seeking local partners.
as an advanced economy in the world, denmark is a global leader in sectors including energy development, environmental protection and fashion, and the barometer for forecasting the global latest design trends. together with the existing 10 10 design industry cooperation program between denmark and shenzhen, the new cooperation program will build a communication channel and ties to promote investment and cooperation in science and cultural fields.
after the meeting, the delegation visited industry leaders including seidenfaden and holscher, and held talks with senior executives of the two companies. mr. wang also invited them to set up companies in shenzhen to benefit from the economic growth in china.
