on june 16, invest shenzhen, the culture, sports and tourism administration of shenzhen municipality, luohu district government, stockholm business region, swedish design house, and the shenzhen industrial design profession association (sida) jointly held the shenzhen-sweden young entrepreneur meeting in stockholm. mr. wang youming, director of invest shenzhen, wang ping, deputy head of the luohu district government, per olof bjork, vice-president of sino-sweden trade association, anna gisseler, ceo of the stockholm business region, and bob lee, president of the swedish design house attended the meeting and made speeches. other participants include entrepreneurs from swedish industrial design companies, architectural design companies, open source communities and business incubators. during the meeting, they exchanged views on cooperation between the two countries in cultural innovation industries and held signing ceremonies for a direct cooperation project between sweden design house and the sino-finnish design park and the investment agreement between openlab and sweden design house.
mr. wang youming introduced the outstanding investment environment in shenzhen and described shenzhen as a young, diversified, open and passionate city of design and pointed out that shenzhen will be home to global makers with a strong electronic information industry and an integrated industry chain. the shenzhen government invented the idea of integrating innovation, new businesses, venture capital and makers and launched maker week. world renowned designers including yrjo kukkapuro, stefano giovannoni, and karim rashid started businesses in shenzhen. with a huge professional market, outstanding innovation and business environments, shenzhen will become a perfect partner for sweden and support swedish entrepreneurs and designers.
in addition, the luohu district government introduced the business environment of luohu in the gold and jewelry industry, plus fashion and scientific and technological innovation. entrepreneurs from indesign and lundberg design shared their investment experience in shenzhen. swedish design house and the sino-finnish design park entered into a direct cooperation agreement to launch long-term cooperation in fields including technological exchange, investment promotion and helping enterprises settle in shenzhen. also, openlab of the royal institute of technology (kth) signed a cooperation agreement to join in the construction of the makers’ home in shenzhen.
as an advanced economy in the world, sweden is a global leader in sectors including electronic communications, biological engineering, and energy development, and the wind vane of global latest design trends. the cooperation between shenzhen and sweden will build a communication channel and ties to promote investment and cooperation in science and cultural fields.
