on june 15, a delegation from invest shenzhen led by director wang youming visited openlab of the royal institute of technology (kth) and held talks with prestigious swedish designers. ivar bjorkman introduced the history, missions and the operating mode of openlab and promoted the idea of building a sustainable development pattern through cooperation in various sciences and fields. mr. wang introduced advantages of shenzhen in promoting innovation and building the makers’ home. he outlined the industry development plan of shenzhen, which integrates innovation, new businesses, venture capital and makers. he also mentioned cooperation possibilities and directions for shenzhen and sweden by comparing the status of the maker movement in shenzhen with that in sweden.
the two sides will jointly promote the cooperation between openlab and the swedish design house and build the sino-finnish design park in shenzhen to share industry resources and encourage innovation. co-established in the capital city of sweden stockholm by the swedish government and four universities, openlab has been committed to solving various social problems including aging and diseases via cross-science cooperation and innovation. software and hardware resources are shared in addition to facilities such as 3d and instructions provided for makers. openlab also introduces teachers in various fields to provide professional design training programs, and hold seminars and workshops to help makers provide innovative and outstanding solutions.
