invest shenzhen sent a delegation to implement the one belt and one road strategy, build the foundation of the maritime silk road, consolidate the rewards of visits made by government officials, and strengthen the cooperation and overseas investment promotion network. the group was led by deputy director jia changsheng together with officials from relevant authorities to launch a series of investment promotion activities in the south pacific including the cook islands, new zealand and fiji.
on march 27, the delegation met with the cook islands investment committee and chamber of commerce (marking the first official meeting between them) in the cook islands. during the meeting, they discussed a wide range of issues including economic development, industry structure and cooperation and made a preliminary cooperation agreement. they also visited the china southern fishery (shenzhen).
on march 30 and 31, the delegation launched a series of investment promotion activities in new zealand, including the 2015 china (shenzhen) – new zealand investment and cooperation promotion around the theme of invest in shenzhen to win the future in auckland.
the delegation visited government officials and held talks with relevant departments to introduce investment and partnership. in wellington, the delegation met with tim green, global affairs chief of new zealand trade and enterprise and discussed issues that included trade and technological cooperation between shenzhen and new zealand.
they also held talks with more than 10 organizations and enterprises including the wellington chamber of commerce, grow wellington, cbre, deloitte & touche, and the victoria business school. during the meeting, invest shenzhen and the wellington chamber of commerce entered into a memorandum of understanding (mou) agreement. in addition, the delegation visited rakon, held talks with ceo brent robinson, and visited rakon’s production and r&d centers.
on april 2, the delegation was warmly received by robin k.ali, chief executive of nadi, fiji, and mr. shi jie, chairman of the fiji-guangzhou commerce chamber. the china (shenzhen) – fiji investment promotion meeting co-sponsored the event. during the meeting, invest shenzhen entered into cooperation mous with the fiji-guangzhou commerce chamber, the fiji-chinese commerce chamber, and the fiji-chinese culture, economy and art association.
