the roadshow startup weekend was held on november 16, 2014 at the shenzhen convention & exhibition center and attracted more than 1,000 makers from the globe. the activity was co-organized by invest shenzhen and startup weekend, the world’s largest non-profit entrepreneur organization. shenzhen deputy mayor chen biao attended and addressed the event.
mr. chen highlighted the rich maker resources and platforms in shenzhen and indicated that the municipal government will take advantage of the internet to create an outstanding business environment for micro-businesses, domestic and overseas makers, and young students, which makes the high-tech fair a significant platform for new businesses and innovation.
later, we introduced the outstanding business and innovation environment of shenzhen for global makers. afterwards, global makers showcased 20 innovative projects related to the internet, robotics and 3d printers. a group of prestigious scholars, experts, entrepreneurs, investors and government officials were invited to share their opinions on new projects and offer suggestions to the makers.
to accelerate the development of innovative industries and build shenzhen into the home of makers, shenzhen has issued a series of policies to provide administrative, capital and talent resources for makers.
