the china (shenzhen) – shenzhen smart city industry cooperation exchange meeting was held on november 17th at no.2 rose hall, shenzhen convention & exhibition center. this meeting was co-organized by invest shenzhen and the canadian consulate general of guangzhou with support of the guangming district administrative committee and ccit. senior executives from more than 20 canadian companies and 40 companies in shenzhen attended the meeting. deputy director of invest shenzhen, jia changsheng and canadian consul general weldon epp addressed the gathering.
mr. jia pointed out that building a smart city is to reform the city management and create a new development mode, and the smart city is the result of integration and the development of modern cities. thanks to strong hi-tech industries, shenzhen has led the study and exploration in the construction of a smart city in china. the meeting was held to build a bridge between shenzhen and canada to jointly explore the development strategy of the smart city and facilitate cooperation between companies in the two countries.
weldon epp indicated that many industry leaders in canada highly value shenzhen’s advantage in scientific innovation and hoped that companies from the two countries can increase communication and joint efforts in building smart cities.
more than ten companies including soti, faronics and pleora shared their experience and success stories of building smart cities and exchanged views with companies from shenzhen during the meeting. after the meeting, companies from two countries reached agreements on several smart city development projects and system solutions.
