on november 1, 2013, siemens completed phase iii of its r&d and manufacturing construction project in shenzhen, and held a ceremony to promote its new 3t product - magnetom spectra nuclear magnetic resonance system. since then, shenzhen has served as siemens'sole r&d and production base outside germany for developing magnetic resonance in the fields of r&d, production, marketing, logistics, technical services, and support.
chen biao, deputy mayor of shenzhen met bern monte vice president of siemens healthcare at the ceremony, and commented that: "shenzhen is committed to providing a green low-carbon environment and excellent investment environment. we hope that the siemens healthcare project can contribute to the construction of the city based on expertise and resources. certainly shenzhen will provide you with a full range of convenient services."
gao guohui, secretary general of the shenzhen government; stefan gallon, consul general of the german consulate in guangzhou; and a siemens'representative officially launched the building. wang youming, director of invest shenzhen, and li shi, deputy director of invest shenzhen also met bern monte at the ceremony.
since its establishment, invest shenzhen has sought to attract investment from fortune 500 companies, sending a team to siemens headquarters in 2012. totaling rmb200 million, the phase iii project was the only investment siemens made globally in 2012. in this regard, shenzhen is the largest r&d and production center operated by siemens outside the siemens mr division in germany. the new base serves as an international platform for researching, developing and producing magnetic resonance systems, and marks siemen' confident entry into china.
