invest shenzhen and nanshan district government jointly held the shenzhen bio-pharmaceutical investment promotion meeting on september 25, the same day as the opening ceremony of the 2nd shenzhen international bio-technology innovation forum and fair. a total of 100 representatives attended from globally leading organizations including sanofi's asia-pacific r&d center, new york academy of sciences, south korea bio-chemical association, and china medicinal biotech association.

invest shenzhen warmly welcomed representatives from all over the country, and introduced the development status of shenzhen's bio-tech industry and related policies. delegates praised shenzhen's pleasant environment and the strong momentum of its bio-tech industry. 
 

currently, shenzhen ranks in the top three of domestic cities in terms of bio-medical output based on nationally leading bio-pharmaceutical and bio-medical equipment vendors. in 2012, the industry generated a total output of around rmb91 billion, up 20 percent over the same period last year, helping shenzhen outpace the majority of other chinese cities.
