to maximize fruits of the visit by senior executives of the shenzhen municipal government to israel and promote investment and technical cooperation of israeli hi-tech companies in shenzhen, invest shenzhen and federation of israeli chamber of commerce (ficc) jointly held the shenzhen investment introduction meeting for israeli hi-tech companies in tel aviv at 4:00pm on may 7 around the theme "invest in shenzhen to win the future". deputy director li shi, councilor of the embassy of the p.r.c. in the state of israel han jun and ficc vice president oren shachor attended and addressed the meeting. the meeting attracted over 70 representatives from israeli hi-tech companies and institutions.
li shi addressed the meeting by describing shenzhen as a miracle, open, innovative and environmental-friend city and unveiled three strategies to deepen cooperation between china and israel: stimulating science and technology exchange, boosting strategic emerging industries and bolstering cooperation in energy-saving and environmental protection fields. han jun and oren shachor also painted a rosy outlook for the economic and sci & tech cooperation between the two countries in their speeches.
highlights of the meeting included a video that focused on shenzhen's history, culture, investment environment and latest development of the qianhai cooperation zone. to increase our understanding in israeli enterprises' needs, we have conducted a questionnaire survey among the present representatives before the meeting. moreover, representatives of the israeli industry r&d center were invited to explain the shenzhen-israel industry r&d program during the meeting. enterprise hi-tech companies were deeply impressed by shenzhen's excellent investment environment and our high work efficiency. the meeting room of ficc, designed for some 50 people, housed more than 70. nearly 20 representatives from hi-tech leaders including lexifone and newton, israeli ministry of economy, china-israel venture capital and other organizations shared their success stories in shenzhen and expressed strong desires to expand investment and technological cooperation in shenzhen. the meeting was prolonged to 2.5 hours from 2 hours as originally planned. after the meeting, many israeli companies have revealed plans to us to explore potential partners and business opportunities in shenzhen.
