on october 18, the shenzhen office of spiritual civilization development committee issued the shenzhen civilized travel index for september. the index, compiled by the survey team of the national bureau of statistics, showed that the index hit a new 12-month high of 84.96 in september, up 0.59 month-over-month and 4.37 year-over-year. shenzhen’s civilized urban travel progress index was 1.05%.
in september, all governments and affiliated agencies stepped up traffic management efforts. traffic police imposed punishment for copying traffic rules for those individuals and motor vehicles with violations such as running a red light, and took the lead in establishing a precise management platform for food delivery vehicles to raise residents’ traffic safety awareness and improve civilized urban travel.
the shenzhen civilized urban travel index was 84.96 in september, with an increase in three sub-indexes and a decline in one sub-index, of which the law-abiding rate index increased 0.91 month-over-month to 85.08. due to an increased number of traffic managers deployed in some monitoring sites, as well as a falling number of violations as a result of more efforts to maintain traffic order, such as running red lights, illegally carrying passengers, blocking road and going in the wrong direction, the law-abiding rate by individuals and motor vehicles was 75.75%, up 1.88 percentage points since august. the resident perception index continued rising rapidly with an increase of 2.23 to 72.67, remaining in the range between “somewhat satisfied” and “quite satisfied.” in some monitoring sites, people are more satisfied about civilized travel, with the proportion of people who are “very satisfied” accounting for 19.25% of the total, rising 9.31 percentage points from august. the traffic facilities improvement index increased 0.60 month-over-month to 93.84, with some monitoring sites seeing fewer shortages of traffic signs and failures of signal lights. of them, the number of intersections with no traffic signs decreased by 34 month-over-month, and the number of intersections with failures of signal lights fell by seven month-over-month. the barrier-free sidewalk index fell by 3.31 month-over-month to 87.49, with some monitoring sites seeing more misplaced items, illegal stalls and illegal parking by non-motor vehicles and motor vehicles, which increased by 9, 15 and 12, respectively.
the civilized urban travel improvement index was 1.05% in september, of which the law-abiding rate improvement index, the resident perception improvement index, the traffic facilities improvement index and the no-barrier improvement index for sidewalk were 1.25%, 3.67%, 0.80% and -2.04%, respectively.
