a capital exchange meeting was held by dapeng new area's administrative committee at wuzhou guest house on monday, attended by over 180 entrepreneurs and executives from biotech, health and financial companies from hong kong and shenzhen.
liu feng, the committee's deputy director, said china's first national gene bank was inaugurated in dapeng new area last month. "a total of 22 projects were launched in baguang area, where transport, medical, educational, housing and other public facilities are under construction," he said.
liu said that 30 major projects from home and abroad have been launched in shenzhen international biological valley, where one nobel laureate, six chinese and american academicians and 500 high-level professional talents have settled down.
liu yu, spokesperson of a shenzhen-based biotech company bgi, said that gene sequencing has become a focus of accurate therapy and attracted large amounts of investments. he said there are lots of investment opportunities regarding the use of gene sequencing in treating tumors and genetic diseases.
the spokesperson of the economic services bureau in dapeng new area said that the planning and construction of infrastructure in baguang area will be completed in three years.
