xu said the supply of high-quality products and services in shenzhen has yet to meet the demand from both domestic and international consumers, making it necessary for shenzhen to enhance its supply system's quality and efficiency by expanding high-end and high-quality supply.
huawei technologies co. ltd. and the daya bay nuclear plant's operating company were given special contribution awards, while the ping an insurance (group) co. won the mayor's quality award.
the drone maker dji and property developer tagen group, who were nominated for the mayor's quality award, and seven other enterprises and institutions, such as the shenzhen library and window of the world, were given honorable mention.
the logo of shenzhen standards was revealed during the award ceremony. it will be used as a symbol for leading chinese companies with cutting-edge technology, high-end products and high-quality services. the clothing, furniture and electronics industries in shenzhen have adopted the certification standards for companies to use the logo.
"high quality is the key to propel the structural reform of the supply system," xu said, adding that shenzhen should uphold its own standards for high-quality products and services, which will give the city an advantage if china's economic growth slows.
shenzhen's gdp reached 1.75 trillion yuan (us$266.9 billion) with a year-on-year increase of 8.9 percent last year, and the gdp grew by 8.4 percent from january to april this year, according to the report.
