shenzhen airlines flight zh9065, carrying 140 passengers, left shenzhen international airport on friday for its maiden flight from shenzhen to tokyo.
the daily flight departs at 3:40 p.m. and arrives in tokyo at 8:50 p.m. local time. it returns at 8:50 a.m. and arrives in shenzhen at 1 p.m.
“this regular flight will be very convenient for shenzhen travelers in terms of sightseeing and shopping in tokyo. passengers can have two pieces of luggage weighing below 46 kilograms free of charge," a passenger surnamed liu said.
the occupancy rate of the flight was above 85 percent.
the airline is planning to add flights to bangkok and osaka this january and february. it will open another international route to los angeles via beijing on jan. 15.
it is also planning international routes to angkor in cambodia, bali island in indonesia, ho chi minh city in vietnam and kuala lumpur in malaysia.
shenzhen airlines now operates 27 international routes.
