futian district is trying to encourage global and chinese enterprises to settle in the area with new favorable policies.
the district government held a business promotion meeting in an auditorium thursday morning, with government officials and corporation representatives showing up.
"we are particularly looking forward to bringing in enterprises' headquarters to settle in futian and the main sectors we are targeting are finance, high-end services and emerging industries," said zhang zunzhong, director of the district's bureau of cooperation and promotion.
statistics show that over 100 corporations have already set up headquarters in futian.
last year, headquarters of companies in futian generated 40 percent of the area's total gdp.
futian is also targeting top 500 global enterprises to settle in the area. currently 85 of the top 500 global companies have opened subdivisions in futian.
to recruit more global talent, the district has promised to offer more incentives. yang zifeng, director of the district's human resources bureau, said at thursday's meeting that subsidies are available for returned overseas chinese students, foreign nationals and outstanding maker teams.
students who have completed their education in other countries and decided to work in shenzhen can apply for subsidizes ranging from 6,000 to 12,000 yuan (us$939 to 1,878).
foreign experts, with certain qualifications, will also be granted allowances of up to 1.5 million yuan to do research. and foreign experts may be able to apply for permanent residency in china depending on the contribution made to the city.
yang said there would be a conference on international exchange of professionals in shenzhen next april. companies in futian will set up stalls to recruit international talent to work in the area, said yang.
officials from the district's urban planning and construction bureau, corporation service center and huaqiangbei subdistrict office delivered speeches at the conference and introduced an array of changes to futian's economy.
in hopes of boosting business, the district government also signed letters of responsibility with several departments, including the innovation bureau.
