a newly designed business license was issued to dashengyi maker space co. ltd. yesterday at the shenzhen civic center, marking a big step in the city’s streamlining of business registration. the new business license includes a social credit code, meant to make it easier to track businesses.
this new license replaces and incorporates the functions of the old license and four other certificates, which were needed for business registration.
previously businesses were required to have an organization code certificate, a tax registration certificate, a social security registration certificate and a company seal certificate.
“i know lots of foreigners. they cannot understand why so many certificates are required for starting a business in china. with the new license, it’s more efficient and convenient to register a business,” said dai jin, the boss of the company.
dai received the new business license from ma xingrui, shenzhen’s party chief.
the new license has a “social credit code” and a qr code. the 18-number social credit code is bound to a company forever.
“any change of location or business type in the future will not alter it,” said zhong wen, director of the registration sub-administration of the shenzhen market and quality supervision commission.
“in the past, we issued different types of business licenses to different types of companies. now the new license will cover different types of business entities,” said zhong.
an online registration system gives business founders more freedom when naming their companies.
cancellation procedures are simplified for companies that shut down and don’t have outstanding debt.
the names of companies filing to close will be posted online for 45 days, giving anyone who may object a chance to come forward.
these changes are part of a nationwide business system reform process, initiated by the state administration for industry and commerce.
“this reform is a long-term process. we believe that more administrative offices will join our system in the future.” said xu youjun, executive vice head of the shenzhen market and quality supervision commission.
